About The Scrambled Library

In one sentence

The Scrambled Library is a word-building roguelike for iPhone and iPad: spell words from nine letter tiles, outwit 16 eccentric librarians and put the stories of the Great Library back together.

Longer

One stormy night, a spell went wrong and every book in the Great Library spilled its letters across the floors. Wren, the Head Librarian, needs an apprentice. Players spell words from nine letter tiles to reach a target score before their words run out, then climb the library floor by floor, one shelf at a time.

Every floor has two aisles, and players pick one shelf in each. Every genre plays differently and pays out its own prize: a Mystery hides a clue letter, a Fairy Tale makes the first word magical, a Diary trades a word for redraws. Then the floor's librarian guards the last shelf with a strange rule: the Haiku allows a single word, the Moths eat tiles, the Library Cat naps on a letter. Between shelves, players borrow Books at the Book Desk that change how words score, and renew or return them when they fall due, so every run builds a different strategy.

Beyond the climb there's a Daily Edition with the same letters for everyone, a Time Trial, turn-based Time Duels and live Word Battles through Game Center, where both players get the same letters and every word tears pages out of the other's book.
